Make A Wish trip, Nov 6-11, 2002

DAY 1
        Two days before our trip, Haley kept asking "are you done packing yet?"
The night before our trip, we got home at around 7:00 pm. As we got out of the car Haley said. "Mom, I better go to bed now" I suppose you could say she was a little excited.

        We left around 10:30 on Wednesday morning, we got to GIVE KIDS THE WORLD VILLAGE at about 4:30. We got a big "Hi, you must be Haley" from the woman at the check in desk. Haley got a Mickey Mouse doll, and Nikki got Shamu, then the girls got a ride in a cart to our villa. When we got there, we had snacks and the girls got a Movie and a couple of toys. We decided to unpack later so we could go see the village before it was too dark. Check it out for yourself at www.gktw.org

        We checked out the village, rode the carousel, ate some dinner at the gingerbread house, visited the castle of Miracles and then at some ice cream at the ice cream shop, then we went back to unpack.

Then it was trying to get the kids in bed to get ready for the next day.

Day 2 Magic Kingdom
        The weather was a little chilly, We got up for breakfast and to go get our picture taken with Mickey and Minnie in the Castle. We also got to meet the Fairy Godmother, Goofy and Pluto.
        After breakfast we were on our way to the Magic Kingdom! We got to see a music show on Main Street and looked at the castle. Our first ride was the Dumbo ride twice! Got a ride on the carousel. We found Aunt Joye, Aunt Diane and Grandma.
        We went to It's A Small World and rode that, found A Snow White ride to go on, and then we rode on a Pooh Bear ride. We got to meet the Rabbit from Alice in Wonderland.

        After lunch we went to find Splash Mountain, we were a little worried that Haley would not be able to ride it, the drop at the end was a big one. Haley and Nikki LOVED IT! They were screaming the whole way down. We did not even get that wet.
        We then went to ride the Thunder Mountain Railroad, the girls loved that one too.
        We went to find a place to watch the Parade. We got front row seats, Alice from Alice in Wonderland stopped by to say hi to Haley, she called her by name (name tag) so Haley felt very special. We saw Beauty and the Beast in the parade and Mickey and Minnie and Cinderella.
        We then went to Frontier Land and ate a Turkey leg. we met the Country Bears and got lots of hugs.
Everyone at the Magic Kingdom was so great to us, we did not have to wait in any lines and they went out of their way to find us a special spot to watch the parade.
        When we got back to the village we found out if was Christmas in the village, on our way to dinner a golf cart, decorated with christmas lights and playing Christmas music stopped by and gave us some hot cocoa and cookies, what a treat! We had turkey for dinner and when we went outside after dinner it was snowing! Then Santa stopped by the Castle of Miracles to take some pictures with the kids. It was a full day and everyone was exhausted.
        The girls found two hats, a toy and another movie waiting for them when we got back to the villa.

Day 3 SEA WORLD.
Friday, Nov 8, 2002

        Haley and Nikki got up at 8:00 for breakfast and to go meet Barney, Baby Bop and BJ. They were nice enough to pose for some pictures too.

        Haley was still very tired when we got back to the villa so she stayed with Grandma and rested while the rest of us did some shopping.
        When we got back it was time to go to Sea World.

        The first thing we saw when we got there were some turtles, very large turtles, then we went to see the Stingrays, Haley and Nikki got to touch them, Haley was a little timid at first.

        Then we went to see the dolphins, it was just before feeding time, they splashed us a little.
One of the women that worked there, spotted Haley during feeding time and came over with a bucket of fish, she got one of the dolphins to lay on the ledge in front of Haley so she could pet it. Then she got it to make noises for her, and then she had some of them do some jumps in front of us. Then it splashed her good. It was very exciting.

        Then we went to see Shamu, that was very funny and Haley liked seeing everyone get splashed. We got alot of good video on that one.
    

   Then we went to see the Polar Bears and Walruses, the Polar Bear was sleeping but the Walruses were very active. It was funny how they kept swimming the same pattern over and over.
Then we went into shark tank, well not into it, under it. that was neat to see.
Haley and Nikki sat on the whale statues for a picture and right after I clicked, down she went, she slid right off of it. Laughing the whole time. On the way home, Nikki taught everyone in the back how to play the Telephone game, that was very funny.
        After dinner we went for ice cream, then to ride the carousel. Haley wrote her name on a star inside the castle, and the "fairy" came in the middle of the night and put it on the ceiling with the others, where it will stay forever.
Then the girls played dress up on the stage for a bit. The girls had two star picture holders with Mickey's faces on them when we got back. They had also left me a very nice picture for my wall at home.
